In the refuge of forgiveness

Forgiveness Is My Refuge

Forgiveness is for me, a sanctuary carved from chaos,
Acknowledging the wound, the scar, the bruise, the sting.

It’s the whisper of truth that I was hurt,
Yet knowing, I can’t control the storm of their actions.

Forgiveness is letting go of the hurt story,
Rewriting the narrative with words of healing and hope.

It’s the fracture and frustration,
The fragile dance of “you hurt me,”
But I stand here, trying not to forget,
Yet striving to remember with a heart reborn.

Forgiveness is seeing you through a lens of compassion,
A kaleidoscope of love, refracting the light of understanding.
It’s seeing the shadow and the sun in everyone,

For in you, I see a reflection of my own missteps,
The echo of my own stumbles, perhaps in a different rhythm.

Forgiveness is a work in progress, a canvas of commitment,
An art I craft daily with trembling hands and steady heart.

It’s the ebb and flow, a tide of grace,
One moment forgiving, the next in fracture, frustration.

Forgiveness is faith and favor,
A bridge of belief spanning the chasm of hurt.

It’s a journey not yet finished,
But a promise I renew every dawn,
To see the world through the lens of love,
To let forgiveness be my guide, my guardian, my grace.

That’s what forgiveness is to ME
